30 YEARS, REIMAGINED
The Cowboys approached us with a brief to create a strong visual brand in the stadium that ties together with their existing market presence. Celebrating their 30th anniversary, they wanted a design that nods to their history while maintaining a modern and fresh look. .
PAST MEETS PRESENT
The main challenge was to create a cohesive visual brand that resonates with the Cowboys' history and anniversary celebration, while ensuring it doesn't look old or dated. Additionally, there were technical production hurdles such as lighting issues, flickering shadows, and managing assets efficiently in After Effects .
RIP. CUT. BUILD.
We started by taking the Cowboys' idea of a photo collage of their history and expanded it using a paper tearing technique. This approach allowed us to create a collage of patterns, styles, and looks, remixing them to form a unique visual brand . The design solutions were mainly in response to what they had in the market, reworking it to stand out in a stadium environment.
A CROWD FAVOURITE LOOK
The paper tearing concept provided strong animation and visually appealing imagery. By mixing patterns with the logo and integrating 3D and 2D elements, we achieved a design with great depth and layers . This approach also tied back to the idea of peeling back the layers of history.
The Cowboys were thrilled with the final design, receiving positive audience feedback and carving out their own piece of North Queensland. The project came together fantastically, with the integration of 3D and 2D elements being particularly successful .
